The Tec Lite course offered by the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD) is a scuba diving certification program that teaches divers the knowledge and skills required for recreational technical diving using Nitrox and/or oxygen-enriched gases.

The course typically includes classroom sessions, confined water dives, and open water dives. During the course, students learn about technical diving equipment, dive planning, gas management, decompression theory, and emergency procedures.

The course is designed for divers who want to explore deeper and stay longer underwater, while still remaining within the limits of recreational diving. Tec Lite divers typically use a single decompression gas and do not use multiple stage cylinders or complex decompression plans.

To enroll in the Tec Lite course, students must be certified as Advanced Open Water Divers or have an equivalent certification from a recognized scuba diving agency. They must also have a minimum number of logged dives and meet the age requirement (usually 18 years old).

During the confined water dives, students learn essential skills such as gas switching, ascents and descents, and equipment management. These skills are then put into practice during the open water dives, which typically include dives to depths of up to 50 meters (165 feet) using Nitrox and/or oxygen-enriched gases.

Throughout the course, safety is emphasized, and students are trained to manage risks associated with technical diving. They learn to use the appropriate equipment, plan and execute safe and controlled decompression stops, and manage their gas supply.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be certified as Tec Lite divers and will have the knowledge and skills necessary to safely explore the underwater world using Nitrox and/or oxygen-enriched gases.
